Transport sector air pollution reduction plan

Purpose

Preparation of a plan for the reduction of air pollution from the transport sector, combining restrictions on the use of polluting diesel-powered vehicles alongside setting up a support operation for early scrapping of vehicles and installation of air pollution reduction technologies in existing vehicles. Alongside the plan, a fund will be established to encourage local authorities to build clean air zones in their jurisdictions.

The challenge

Identification of the target population and establishing the amount of financial incentive required to create a balance between possible infringement of vehicle owners’ rights and the national benefit of air pollution reduction.

Our part in the project management

Preparation of an economic calculation that has been used as a basis for forming the plan, assistance in characterization of the target populations and setting economic incentives.
