Building the Afula sewage works

Purpose

Building a new Afula sewage works near Afula, to replace existing facilities in the region

The challenge

Planning a high-quality technological solution in a small area that fulfills the customer’s requirements, providing a solution for treating sewage from residential neighborhoods and industrial zones that are being planned as part of the development and growth of the population in the region.

Our part in the project management

  • Support of planning committees, formation of options and optimization of a regional sewage works that is intended for treating the sewage from the towns of Afula, Migdal HaEmek and Nazareth Illit.
  • Cancelling the Ginegar sewage works and consolidating it with the new facility that is under construction at the Afula sewage works site. Release of land and reduction of the total area required for treating waste water.
  • General planning and support for decision-making committees until approval of the preferred option.
  • Detailed design of a modern sewage works with a design flow rate of 36,000 m3 per day using MR technology, including a biogas sludge treatment system, a regulating pool system and emergency pools system.
